Gears and Levers

The school bell has just rung, but Bijou LaVoix and her new-found friends won't learn today how ribbon-shaped Lake Michigan was formed.

Instead, Bijou LaVoix, Bobby Shepherd, Toby Baker and their leader, thirteen-year-old Ollie Cobbler, are about to do something no one has ever done before:

Capture a gold fae.

The steam-and-metal-made foursome even have a trap filled with the wonderful things gold fae like: dew drops, nectar, sunlight slices and moonbeam bliss.

But the capture goes horribly wrong, and Bijou and her friends aren't the same ever again.

"Bijou LaVoix and the Coal Dust Faery," one of twenty steampunk tales in the Gears and Levers: 1 anthology, is a story of struggle, determination and long-lived friendship.

Edited by Phyllis Irene Radford, steampunks in Gears and Levers battle pirates, travel back in time, fly dirigibles and explore the wonders of the Orient. Contributors include David D. Levine, Brenda Clough, Mark J. Ferrari, Irene Radford, K.L. Townsend, David Lee Summers, Shannon Page, Bruce Taylor, and Malon Edwards.

Gears and Levers 1: A Steampunk Anthology is available in Kindle format.
