A middle-aged woman in a frigid marriage discovers her experimental age-defying treatment may be something more than skin deep.
A worn, aged small-town patriarch uncovers a web of sinister transactions involving his local funeral home.
Daft boys and their daft penises.
Four in the Morning offers sinister urban fantasy, dark science fiction, bone-chilling horror and adventurous steampunk in three novelettes and one novella from four exciting genre voices: Edward M. Erdelac, Lincoln Crisler, Tim Marquitz, and yours truly.
"Half Dark," which kicks off Four in the Morning, is the adventurous steampunk novelette about daft boys and their daft penises.
Or at least, that's what eleven-year-old Bijou LaVoix says.
But it's not what you think.
One moment Bijou was wrestling with her best friend Bobby Shepherd in the Chicago River like they do every Sunday morning. The next moment Bobby's small and hard penis was on her bum.
And then, all of a sudden, Bijou turned into a mermaid snake-woman–complete with breasts and scales and a long tail–right before her best friend's eyes.
