In the Marrow Gets Mention at io9

Charlie Jane Anders has given me a bit of a shout out over at io9 for my flash fiction piece, "In the Marrow", published a few weeks ago at Lakeside Circus.

Check out what she has to say about the piece, and then give it a read over at Lakeside Circus.

Feel free to let me know your thoughts on the story here, or over at io9.

In the meantime, I'll be geeking out over here in the corner.

Just found your piece via io9. 'In The Marrow' is beautiful. You have so much storytelling going on without very much actually being said. You have an amazing gift. As an aspiring writer and a avid reader, pieces like this touch me very deeply with their simple complexity. I read 'In The Marrow' repeatedly trying to deny that that was all there was to it. I cried for these women. I wanted to know who she was like before. I wanted to see them find each other again and fall in love all over again. Thank you for that.

@Serenity River: Thank you very much for the kind words and for reading the story. It really, truly pleases me that the story touched you the way it did. It shows me that I've done something right with this story.

Not sure if this would ruin 'In the Marrow' for you, but that story is a prequel to 'Better Than Everything', which you can find to the right, under my list of published stories.

'Better than Everything' is a longer read and fleshes out Zakiya and Jae Lyn's relationship a bit more. Give it a read and let me know what you think.
